Mayfield United Methodist Church marks 175 years
from the News-Herald
The 800-member Mayfield United Methodist Church congregation will gather with friends, family and members of the community on Sept. 19 to celebrate the church's 175th anniversary.
Looking back has certainly been a part of the process, but to the Rev. Scott Wilson, lead pastor, a celebration of this kind is just as much about vision for the future.

Mayfield church celebrated its 175th birthday with reunions from former pastors along with a sermon from the District Superintendent. The sanctuary was packed as we celebrated Mayfield’s birthday with just one service, which included the contemporary band, choir and hand bells. Immediately following the service, we officially opened the newly built Pavilion and enjoyed watching each of the pastors getting dunked in the dunk tank! The food flowed freely and kids enjoyed all the activities that were available from face painting to Velcro walls, and a donut eating contest! Cotton candy was enjoyed by both the old and the young.
