The Mayfield Church pavilion was built over a one week span in mid-September, 2010. The structure was erected by an Amish crew in three days and the cement pad and driveway were poured about a week later using 57.5 cubic yards of cement. Finish the story and see more photos...

The recently established Mayfield Dog Ministry brings together dog lovers for fun and fellowship, education and community outreach / fundraising for animals in need. The ministry went on their first official visit on Tuesday evening to tour the facilities of Rescue Village, which is a nonprofit organization. All of Rescue Village’s funding comes from private donations, private foundations, or corporate sponsorships. They receive no funds from any government agency. The animals that were sheltered at Rescue Village during our visit included cats, dogs, horses, roosters and rats. The facilities are immaculate, all cages are cleaned daily along with all bedding and towels. Their washing machine is in constant use and needs to be replaced on an annual basis! The cat facilities include two large rooms where cats benefit from the many volunteer ‘cat cuddlers’. There are dog walkers that provide the dogs with 3 walks a day on the property of Rescue Village.
