Activity: Scavenger Hunt
Recap: Tweens received a list of Bible verses that mentioned some common items that can be found in our church. Tweens would read the bible verse to determine where their next clue could be found. This was a fun way for tweens to get into their bibles!
January
Activity: Mystery Night
Recap:We did a devotion based on Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” We discussed what it meant to seek, pursue, chase, hunt and tobe a ‘God-stalker’. Christ has given you everything you need. We also discussed the importance of having a friends or a group of friends (tweens) to help keep you following God’s path. After our devotion, we began our mystery night.
The question the tweens needed to solve was “Who Jacked Mr. Jason’s gel?” by locating hidden clues hidden in the lower level classrooms of the church. Did I mention the game takes place in the dark? The winners of the game were able to create a new hairstyle for Mr. Jason.

F.R.O.G.s!
Fully Rely On God
Tween retreat
“Trust in the Lord forever, He is our Rock.” Isaiah 26:4
On April 8th & 9th, the Mayfield Church Tweens held their annual overnight retreat this year at Camp Burton. Thirteen 4th, 5th & 6th graders, also known as the tweens, along with five adult leaders took time away from the busyness of their lives to connect with God with this unique retreat of God and nature. The theme of this year’s retreat was F.R.O.G.s. Tweens learned how to fully rely on God and learned about the majesty He gives us through nature by learning about frogs. Through hiking, activities and the biblical story of Elijah, tweens learned about communicating with God and that He has a plan and a purpose for each of us. At the end of this special time together, nine tweens stepped forward and dedicated their lives to Christ. God is working in the hearts and lives of our young people at Mayfield Church. If you are interested in learning more about our tween ministry or how you can become involved, please contact Stacy Becker. More willing volunteers open more opportunities to introduce our young people to God.
Here are some photos from some of our adventures during the retreat.
