Beth attended Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL where she obtained her Master of Divinity degree and met her husband, Jon. After serving congregations outside of Chicago, they moved to Ohio to be closer to family. They have two energetic boys, (and one on the way!) who love board games, music, singing, and playing outside together. She joined our staff July 2021, after serving at Hope Ridge UMC for ten years. She is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church.  

Jan is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. She joined our staff in July 2007 after receiving her master of divinity degree from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. Jan directs our LifeGroups (small group ministries for adults) and oversees our outreach ministries to two elementary schools. She also assists in preaching, teaching, pastoral care and administration. Jan enjoys adventure, and loves to travel (her latest trip was to Zimbabwe). She also enjoys reading, cycling and playing with her dogs.
Adam is our director of student & young adult ministries. He joined our staff in 2014. A native of Chesterland and a graduate of West Geauga High School, Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in religious studies from Case Western Reserve University and a master of divinity  from Asbury Theological Seminary.  He and his wife, Kate (Collins), met at a Mayfield’s Camp Aldersgate. They have two daughters. He enjoys playing basketball and ultimate Frisbee, reading, and is an avid Cleveland sports fan.
Denny oversees our middle school ministries, Elevate, for students in  6th through 8th grades. He also assists with Tweens, Vacation Bible School and Camp Aldersgate. Denny has a master’s of divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and a master’s degree in education from John Carroll University. His full-time job is teaching math to middle-schoolers at a local catholic school.
Jess is our director of children’s ministries. Jess grew up in Mayfield Church and has served in our children’s ministry since before she was a teenager. She holds  an associate degree in arts and sciences from Lakeland Community College and a bachelor of science degree in social work from Youngstown State University.
Darlene joined our staff in 2017 and serves as our financial administrator. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from Lake Erie College and has 20-plus years of financial and administrative experience. Along with teaching in the business department of area colleges on an as-needed basis, Darlene loves spending time with her two daughters.
Rebecca is our Communications Coordinator.  She has been attending Mayfield Church for 20 years and has a degree in Art Therapy from Mercyhurst College. She is married to Drew Sulzer and they have two sons. She enjoys playing piano with the 9:30 Worship Band, practicing yoga, and traveling.
Cyndi is our coordinator of care and prayer ministries.  She was a BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) leader for 20 years. Cyndi is trained as both a Stephen Leader and a Stephen Minister. She and her husband, Larry, have three grown sons and four grandchildren they enjoy watching.
Mary is our childcare/ nursery coordinator. She has experience in working with non-profit organizations on event-planning and coordinating and has also been active in helping with different roles within the Children’s Ministry. Mary and her husband, Alex, have four boys and are involved in the Children’s Ministry here at Mayfield Church.


Carol has been our organist since 1987. She is the accompanist for the adult choir and also rings with the bell choir. Carol is the accompanist for the middle and elementary choirs at Hathaway Brown School, and teaches lessons in piano, flute and organ. She is married to Brian, her high school sweetheart, and they have two married sons, Adam and Matthew, who live in the area. She is also a happy grandma to four grandchildren!


Steve is our building and grounds manager, on staff since 2012. He supervises two custodians and serves as liaison to the Board of Trustees. He has had his own construction business, and has built houses, restored cars and operated a window-cleaning service. Steve is married to Melanie, the assistant director of Heartland Childcare Center, and they have two sons. Steve enjoys bike riding and outdoor activities.


Patty is our director of Heartland Childcare Center, a five star center in Ohio’s “Step Up to Quality” program. The faith-based preschool and school-age program began in 2005; Patty brought 20 years of early childhood education and experience to the ministry when she joined the staff in 2006. She and her husband, Tim, have six sons, and are enjoying their first grandchild!
