Lack of nutrition has far-reaching consequences, impacting physical health, cognitive and academic performance, social interactions, mental well-being, and
family dynamics.

Who Are the Hungry That Need to Be Fed?

Food Insecurity is the lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life. According to the Feeding America site as of 2022:

​

  • In Geauga County, over 10,000 people were food insecure in 2022,This placed the food insecurity rate in the county at over 15% that year.
     

  • The food insecure population in Cuyahoga County was189,390 with an annual food budget shortfall of $167,130,000Children are particularly vulnerable to the effects of hunger, which can hinder their growth, learning, and overall development.

All Food is Not Created Equal

We all know Fresh Nutritious Fruits & Vegetables are better than a Nutrigrain Bar or Gummies, which are better than no food. Energy, Immunity, Energy, Immunity, Healing are all connected to minerals and vitamins that come from the soil and earth that God provided.Healthy Soil grows Healthy Plants that grows Healthy People

What May it Look Like?

Maize Manor United Methodist Church has the Urban Farm Church in Columbus is a great example. They put their plants on the yard of the connected parsonage property.
